Fathom shortlisted for Responsible Business Awards

We’re delighted to announce that Fathom has been shortlisted for the Responsible Digital Innovation Award at this year’s Responsible Business Awards.

The annual awards, run by Business in the Community and supported by JP Corry and Ulster Business, seek to recognise and celebrate Northern Irish firms who make a difference to pressing social and environmental issues with practical actions.

At Fathom, we believe that organisations who seek to understand, meet and exceed their users’ needs can have a positive impact on society. We also believe that digital technology can and should be used to improve access to products, services and experiences. That’s why Fathom are committed to delivering projects which focus on inclusivity, accessibility and enhanced usability for users of all backgrounds, including charities and groups which represent those who are less fortunate than most. This includes:

  • involving those with accessibility requirements in user research
  • working with expert groups to learn more about accessible design
  • ensuring our research and designs consider a range of demographics.

Fathom have worked with a number of charities and social enterprises in recent times, including Christian Aid Ireland, Madlug and Tearfund. Our approach to such projects is the same as with any organisation – we seek to understand both user needs and organisational requirements to design creative solutions for complex problems. Our charitable and ‘for purpose‘ clients have been seen to reduce costs, increase user engagement, improve content management processes, and significantly heighten conversion rates. These benefits go a long way in helping these organisations to be more proficient and to continue doing the good work they do.

The winners of the Responsible Business Awards in Northern Ireland will be announced on 30.05.2019 at a special black–tie event hosted at Belfast Waterfront Hall. Fathom are shortlisted alongside Danske Bank in our category.

Best of luck to all the finalists – we look forward to seeing you on the night.
